Pillows

 Two more replacement pillows - it doesn't matter if they're fancy or the fabric, since they'll be inside pillow cases. I just wanted to easily restuff/add stuffing so I put zippers on them. Now I have two pillows for my bed, which can be washed, and I added a new pillow for my favorite pillow, a square, soft brown pillow with a map design I got years ago from World Market.

Red flannel quilt puzzle blocks

 I finished all the blocks... and realized there are EIGHT of them. *headdesk*. I'm going to work on another set and decide later on either mixing them up or piecing together a ninth block.

Remarks House

 I really liked this one with all the little details - it's a company I haven't heard of before, but I looked and didn't see anything else they make that I liked.

Ravensburger four seasons

 I didn't like this one enough to keep it - I'll take it to the library for a prize.

Richard Scarry puzzle

 The skirt is a heavier/glossier knit/jersey fabric. It worked when I pinned it, but when I sewed it the weight of the heavier skirt (it's got four pieces) dragged it down. The key loop also somehow ended up in the wrong place. I have another pink shirt and more fabric, so I might try again maybe with less fabric in the skirt, or shortening the shirt. I'll have to think about it.

 I'm slowly working my way through projects. I took care of a bunch of mending and am working on the stuff I had stockpiled. This is a thin/cheap jersey fabric that I cut just two double-sided pieces out of. I braided a loop for my keys.

Puzzle

 This was a Ravensburger puzzle with fungi. It was sitting on my puzzle table for... a long time. I finished it in the spirit of finishing projects and because I got a new puzzle I wanted to do... and discovered a piece missing. Hopefully it turns up somewhere on the floor, but it was probably vacuumed in one of my (infrequent) cleaning bouts.

Reading Buddies

I give away Reading Buddies at the library as prizes for our Read and Grow program. We were down to a couple very badly made creatures so I ran off a whole bunch. These still need to be stuffed and sewn up. Or, in the case of the gingerbread shapes, hand-sewn as they are hard to do on a machine. I've learned that fleece is better than felt. Most of these were cut by teen volunteers, so I had to trim some a lot and the ones cut on our die-cut (the horses) don't have matching sides. Then again, a kid took the "swamp witch" I accidentally made so... 

 

Pillow

 I've been meaning to make a pillow that could easily be restuffed (and washed) instead of constantly sewing up holes in my old pillows. I procrastinated for a long time and finally when I sat down to do it today, I forgot that I was going to add a zipper... anyways, it's not pretty but hopefully it will be workable. I'll probably use a safety pin or something to hold the zipper in place when I wash it.

Bread bags

 This was a new project, not an old one to finish, but it was a quick one. I made two bread bags for my sibling who was visiting. They often get bread at Whole Foods and it goes through a slicer and then you slide it into a bag. This was so they can stop having to use the plastic bags. I'm not sure if they're the right size, but I DID spend extra time on actually rolling over the seams and making them look nice (only broke one sewing machine needle lol).

This bag was just plain muslin. I'm worried it's a little too small, especially the opening, to fit over the bread slicer.

This one is fancier. I lined it with thin white muslin. It did turn out quite a bit bigger, so this one might be TOO big... I guess they can put multiple loaves in it? Or fill it with vegetables or... something.

Sorted out all my extra flannel - the solids are in a heap b/c I have some partial quilts they will be the backing for.

Ravensburger Cabinet of Curiosities

 Finally getting back to projects that have been sitting for more than a year. This will be the next one. Unfortunately, while I have a pattern and detailed counts of the pieces, I did not exactly leave detailed notes of how the squares and cream/red strips combined. Oh well.

This is left over from the quilt I finished in 2024. I will do... something with the pieces.

I finally remembered how to put the pieces together and realized I counted wrong initially and it should be 25 blocks, not 24. I did the same thing with the yellow/green quilt, which is why so much was left. I'm going to make one more block for this one - I need 3 small pink squares and one big center square. Is there more of the center square fabric? I don't know. If so, where is it? No idea. Somewhere at the library maybe?

Still working on the rag rug I started last November. My braid continues to grow, but I have... doubts about sewing it together. That's a problem for later me however.
