And then I did this one in two days. The details were easier and more defined I think.
I've had this one up for several months - especially near the end it was very tricky. Sometimes lots of little details can be harder, because your eyes skip over them.
I don't particularly like cooking. However, I did finally clean out my small chest freezer so I determined to actually cook the stuff I got and get some meals prepped.
Leeks from the farmer's market
Misc. vegetables and stuff
First batch of soup Vegetable/chicken broth Chicken Wild rice/brown rice Small red potatoes Carrots Green beans Leeks
Chicken enchiladas
I didn't keep this one. The pieces were kind of sticky which annoyed me. I actually did this... a month ago maybe?
I borrowed this one from the donation table and it turned out to be missing a couple pieces. Oh well.
I am contemplating making my miniature scenes more permanent - getting rid of the layer of dust etc. - and as a very slow first step in that direction I bought a mini cube for my "little treasures." This is a random collection of bits and pieces from my childhood that I have saved. They are definitely not heirloom quality, just sentimental. I told stories with them when I was little. It worked pretty well - I have one more item, a mini wooden bird, but the paint was flaking off so I'll add it when I've figured out how to repaint it.
I did this one sideways, which I don't think made any difference. I tried to do the yellow lines first, and failed dismally. Also, there was an extra duplicate piece which greatly confused me.
I went back and forth on whether I wanted to keep this one - the colors were more muted than I like - but I'll keep it for now.
