New hair

I got my hair re-dyed last week! I redid the bottom in purple and added teal to the top layer, as well as some blue.

New hair!

I am in love with my new hair! I went to a new stylist, Melody, at Jasmine Salon and I absolutely love what she did with my hair when she redyed the blue and purple. The purple is soooo much more gorgeous than last time. She even did fancy braids to show it off!

Winter is the time for hair cuts

I cut off about 10 inches, got the blue from last August redyed, and added a layer of purple. Lovely.

Hair style achieved

I always wanted to put my hair up in a coronet, peasant-style, whatever you call it. But it never worked. They always slipped or didn't stick and there were bits everywhere. But I finally figured it out! First, you have to use one braid instead of two (this does require very long hair). Secondly, clips not pins! I actually got the idea for trying it this way from a picture of an author on Publishers Weekly Children's Bookshelf. I can't remember her name at all, but she's got very thick, dark hair and had it up in a braided crown with bright pink clips that looked like butterflies. And I thought AH HA!! and it totally works. It's really comfortable and easy. I think it looks much better from the front than the back, but why are you staring at the back of my head anyways?
And all the four year old girls are drooling in envy of my hair.
My life is complete.

It is not easy to take pictures of the back of your own head

and this is a horrible picture. whatever.

Hair adventure part 2

The light is really bad - makes my blue streaks look brown or black
I never wear my hair down, but I did not feel my beautiful blue was as appreciated as it could have been, so I coiled the top to keep it from being too hot and wore it down.
This only worked b/c I was doing stuff at the computer all day and our a/c is temporarily working. Moving around it gets in the way and even with most of it coiled up it's hot!

Have I mentioned it's really hard to take selfies of the back of your own head?
When I got home it was hot, so I coiled up the loose hair and wound it around the bun. Stuck with a couple pins and it was pretty comfortable.

Yeah, this light really doesn't show off my blue streaks. Solution might be....more blue next year!

Hair adventure

This is the third year I've dyed my hair - I went with blue this time and this seems like the best place yet. The other two the dye washed out almost immediately.
Yes, it was so hot and humid that there was fog in the middle of the day. Eugh.

Fiddling with my hair

It is not as easy to take pictures of the back of your head as you would think. To do this, I pulled back my hair in a clip, braided it loosely, took the clip out, twisted part of the braid up and held it with a claw. It took several tries to get it to stay and wasn't very sturdy and the shorter braid was a little annoying, but it was different.
