Red Hazelwood Stars part 1

This is from I Love Star Blocks by Karen Burns. The original pattern calls for a variety of colors, and I am going to do that, but I started with a whole bunch of red. It made a lap quilt about 4x5 feet. It's not quite done - I still need to add a border, backing, and quilt it.

Skirt with ruffle

I had partially made this one months ago and just finished it now.

Chair cushion

I sewed this cushion, with an elastic strap, to put on the top of my chair. I tested it at several points, so it should be just right for my head, although I can't use it when my hair is up in clips.

Finishing projects

I finished sewing the hem on a skirt I shortened for mom and sewed up three potpourri bags.

Remade brown skirt with flannel petticoat

I took this apart because I didn't like the end result of the combined brown strips (I later made those into quilts) and I had put the red flannel petticoat in inside out. I remade it with a simple brown and reattached the petticoat, correctly this time.

Minky blanket

This is the first time I've sewed with minky fabric. So soft! So... tricky to sew on. I ended up folding strips of gray flannel around the edge and sewing across it with a curving stitch so I didn't have to try to manipulate the minky directly. It will make a nice small blanket for cuddling.

Ravensburger Kitchen Cupboard

This was a 1,000 piece puzzle created by Colin Thompson. It seemed like it would be fairly easy, because of all the little details, but I ended up spending a lot of time staring at the box cover, trying to find the details!
