Flowered flannel quilt in progress

I worked through a couple plans for this - it's 5" flowered flannel squares surrounded by colored flannel strips.

Getting ready for fall in the garden

Cleared out some morning glories on the left, now the entry looks more balanced. There will be a pot with a smaller plant/flowers behind the post next year.

Bee butt. The squash is still blooming away.

August blooms

Sack Dress

First try at a dress. It was basically two pieces of knit fabric sewn together. The neckline only works if I'm not wearing a bra, so not ideal for work lol.

August blooms

This was the calla lilies bulbs I ordered online. They were tricky to grow intially b/c the chipmunks kept digging them up and chewing on them, but the wire cloches took care of that and they made a good show. I'll have to decide whether I want to try digging and saving them for next year.

The dahlias are starting to bloom. This is a new location, multiple pots at the corner of the house. They don't get quite as much sun as dahlias would like, but this isn't the ideal climate for dahlias anyways. They probably will not reach their full size (some of these should be dinner plate dahlias) but I'm ok with that.

Mushrooms and foxes

I made two of these - one for my sister and one for me. I had trouble getting the first one to match up with the backing and ended up with having to do a weird fold thing. The second one I basted, but it still came out a little uneven. The stretchiness of flannel I guess. Also just using my tiny card table to put them together.

Purple tulip skirt and matching bag

I made this skirt out of remnants - I don't really remember what I originally got this fabric for, maybe I used it in a quilt - I matched it with purple Kona cotton and made a waistband out of salmon cotton broadcloth. I spent a lot of time fine-tuning the waistband and did a lot of basting and removing stitches afterwards. The even smaller remnants I used to make a little cross-body bag, since I didn't want to put a pocket in the skirt.
