Autumn Quilt Part 2

Finished the 36 squares and sewed them together into 9 bigger squares. Next, I'll put these together to make the quilt top. Then I need to finish cutting 36 squares to make the back, decide on a binding, and do the quilting.

Autumn quilt part 1

Starting a new quilt - autumn colors for my associate who's getting married in October. I want this one to be about 6x6 feet, so I'll need 36 of these 13" squares. I haven't decided yet if I'll put a border on them or sew them straight together.

Scrap/strip quilt

This is a bigger one, about 3 x 3.5 feet. I had a lot of trouble quilting it - I think I need to pin and/or baste the batting more firmly in place. I had to take some of the quilting seams out and it still ended up kind of... lumpy.

Small tulip quilt

My matching corners are a bit iffy, especially on one of the blocks but it's still a nice little quilt - would make a nice addition to play with a doll. It's about 1x2 feet and is going into the summer reading prize stash.

Strip/scrap quilt

Leftover scraps on one side, pieces of the strips on the other. This is about 2.5x3 feet and will go into the summer reading prize stash.

Pansy mini quilt

I was playing around with a pattern - not sure where I picked it up. It's triangles. I made a small pillow with the left-over square. This one is for a former teen aide of mine who just had a baby - her colors are gray and pink, so I thought this would be close. It will be a nice little quilt for the baby to lie on and they can hold the pillow when they're older, or it might be helpful for nursing.

Brown and cream quilt

This was originally a skirt - I didn't like how it turned out and I put the flannel underskirt in inside-out, so I took it apart. I expanded it into this quilt for a colleague whose nursery colors are neutral/cream. It's almost 4x4 feet and has a thin, organic cotton batting and just some simple quilting lines to hold it in place. It will be nice and cozy for snuggling under or for baby to puke on, like babies do...
